HOW TO SPEEDUP YOUR MAC INSTANTLY FOR FREE.
As we all know, when a Mac computer was first bought everything seems to be running very fast and there were no problems whatsoever to be found. Especially Mac has a good reputation for reliability and durability as compared with an ordinary PC. But often after a few months of constant usage, you find your Mac starts to slow down, Hard disk space is filling up quick and applications are getting sluggish, and to your frustration and confusion you think to yourself why this is happening? Well you are not alone facing such problems. Here, I am going to show you a few basic ways on how to make your Mac computer, as good and new, like the day you brought it home from the shop.

1. CLEAN UP YOUR DESKTOP.

Usually Mac's users tend to save files and documents on their desktops and over a long period, their desktops are covered with dozens of unused icons, which causes Mac performance to slow down.

You might wonder why that is so? Well, Mac OS X actually treats each desktop icon as its own Window, which consume system resource memory and if you are not careful, they will slow down your system without you even aware of it. I suggest you move those icons (files and documents) away from your desktop to other locations so that it will improve your computer performance.

2. DISABLE DASHBOARD.

Dashboard widgets are very handy tools on Mac OS X, but they consume RAM memory and sometimes they are left running on the background which takes up heaps of RAM memory, and leaves behind less RAM available for other applications that you are actually running. Without sufficient amount of RAM memory in your system, any application you run is not going to run efficiently. Well, I suggest you consider disabling some dashboard widgets that you think you don't use so that you can speedup your Mac.

3. SPEEDUP SAFARI.

Safari is a blazing fast and easy to use browser, but it can go slow if your browsing history and caches piles up or if it is storing heaps of Auto fill entries. So regularly ensuring to clear all your browsing history and caches will keep your browser healthy and fast. One easy way is to go to the application menu and reset everything by selecting Safari > Reset Safari, which will clear all your browser's history and caches.

By default, Safari homepage is Apple's site which usually takes a while to load up every time you turn your browser on. I would suggest you change that to Google homepage which will load up faster. When changing Google as your homepage, make sure you turn off auto complete function as it will slow down your browser. To do so just start up your browser and on the address column type: http://www.google.com/webhpcomplete=0&Hl=en. Once Google homepage is launched, you can set it as your homepage by going to your Safari Menu bar and click onto Safari, then click on Preferences, go to Homepage and click "Set to Current page".Now you are done and the next time you launch your browser Google will be your homepage, and you will notice how fast your browser loads up.
4. TURN OFF UNIVERSAL ACCESS.

Apple has included a number of special features in System Preferences. Some of those features may not be useful to you, such as Universal Access, Bluetooth, Speech Recognition and Internet Sharing. If you think you don't use any of these features, I would suggest you disable them as they will save you some RAM memory and helps speedup your processor.

Ok Hope the above information can be of some use to you to speedup your Mac.
