Is
your computer having problems with sound after installing Windows 7 on boot
camp on your Mac? Well for some reasons after loading Windows 7 on boot camp,
Windows is always muted on startup. It is indeed a strange phenomenon! Even
Microsoft cannot understand why this is happening. Well you are welcome to try
my way to solve the muted sound problem. If you like I would suggest you print
out this page and follow the procedures mentioned below to unmute your PC on
Windows startup.

2. If you have installed boot camp 3.2 or higher, you should uninstall it from your computer. To do so you should go to control panel and click uninstall a program. There you can locate boot camp services and double click it to uninstall it from your computer.
3. After uninstalling boot
camp services
from your computer, you can reinstall boot camp 3.0 (which comes with your Mac
OS X installation disk) and then upgrade it to boot camp 3.1 which you can
download from the link here.
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL996.
(If you happen to encounter error 2753 while reinstalling boot camp on your computer, please refer to my other post on "How to fix Windows 7 error 2753 on your Mac").
4. Reboot your computer after installation of boot camp 3.1.
5. Once your Windows is up and running, you need to first uninstall
and then reinstall your sound driver again on your
system. To do so, you have to click Start button, go to right click
Computer and click Properties, click onto Device Manager and
browse to Sound, video and game controllers and double click it.
There you will see Cirrus Logic device sound driver. Double click it, then
click driver and click uninstall. Once you have uninstalled the
Cirrus Logic device sound driver, go to your task bar and locate the Sound
icon and double click it and it will automatically reinstall the Cirrus
Logic sound driver back again onto your computer. Once you have done that you
can reboot your computer and the sound will not be muted on startup anymore.
Please note:- Do not
upgrade your boot camp 3.1 to higher versions in order to unmute the sound on
Windows 7 startup.
Hope it works for you.
Good luck!
