(THE QUICK AND EFFECTIVE WAY)

As we know Windows 7 is one of the fastest and most reliable OS Microsoft has developed so far, but no matter which version of Windows you use, you will find that your computer will starts to slow down after a few months of constant usage. Luckily there are a few ways and tips available that users can use to speed up their computers running Windows 7. In this post, I am going to show you how you can tweak your computer without having to download any software to improve your computer boot up time.

Change Processors Settings.

To begin with, just go to Click Start on your computer and on the Search programs and files tab, type msconfig and hit enter. The System Configuration window will pop up. Navigate to Boot tab and click on Advanced options button. Check the box named Number of processors and then selects the number of processors (2) from the drop down box and click OK. After that on the boot options "timeout" change the default number from 30 seconds to 3 seconds and click OK. Reboot your computer and you will notice your computer starts up much faster.

                              Microsoft ReadyBoost
                        Are you Ready?
ReadyBoost.

ReadyBoost is a Windows feature Microsoft came up with to boost up your computer. This feature is available in Windows Vista and now has made its way to Windows 7. Obviously ReadyBoost, lets you use a USB flash memory drive as secondary memory cache, which aids in helping your computer to speedup your operating system. To use ReadyBoost, you can just insert a USB flash memory drive onto any USB port on your computer. Once inserted, Windows 7 will automatically detect it and install the required driver to run your flash drive. A pop up window will show up asking you if you want to use the flash drive for ReadyBoost and then recommend the size to reserve for ReadyBoost system files. Just click YES to enable the USB flash drive to be used as ReadyBoost and Windows will configure it for you and you are done.

Hope you find this post useful to boot up your Windows 7 faster.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing these useful tips. They can help us a lot speeding up our computers and working good on them. Personally, I know quite many things about these great devices from a friend who works at Toronto IT services... he taught me how to take care of it, without any kind of problems.
